Who We Are

Father Roger Tobin

Ordained to the priesthood in the Episcopal Church on the Feast of the Ugandan Martyrs in 1978, Father Roger Tobin served for 23 years as the Rector of St. Thomas Episcopal Parish (Coral Gables, Florida) and Head of the parish elementary school. A Minneapolis native, he and his wife of fifty years, Jan, have deep roots in the South Florida community, the home of their twins Nathaniel (Maryann Tatum) and Jonathan (Emily Allongo) and granddaughters Genevieve and Eleanor. In addition to his Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Theology from the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he has earned a Master of Science degree in Counseling with dual majors in Marriage and Family Counseling and Mental Health Counseling. Drawing on his own unique background and eclectic style of working with clients, his primary goal is to empower them with the knowledge that God’s love is unconditional and with the tools necessary to choose new and healthy ways of living.

Father Francis J. Flynn

Miami native and alum of the University of Miami, where he was a member of Iron Arrow Honor Society, Father Francis J. Flynn earned his Master of Divinity degree with the Maryknoll Fathers (Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America) in 1976 and his Doctor of Psychology degree at Nova Southeastern University in 1986. Father Flynn has attempted to guide his forty-three years of priestly ministries by two principles: “The Glory of God is men and women fully alive” (Irenaeus) and “This alone, my child, does the Lord, your God, ask of you. This, my child and nothing more: To act justly, to love tenderly, and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8). Known almost universally as “Skip,” Father Flynn provides individual counseling, drawing on his own life experiences and struggles with PTSD, service in Chile and Venezuela and in the Hispanic communities of South Florida, teaching about addictions and addictions counseling in China, more than a decade as the Substance Abuse Counselor at his alma mater, and his personal theological/spirituality perspectives. He is also co-founder of Pathwaves, a Miami-based digital therapeutics company.

Charles Lwanga and Bishop James Hannington and their companions - twenty-three Anglicans and twenty-two Roman Catholic converts to Christianity - were executed under Mwanga, kabaka or ruler of Buganda (now part of Uganda), between 1885 and 1887. Martyred by fire, beheading and other forms of torture, their feast is celebrated in both Communions on June 3.  These martyrs and saints serve as models of Faith, mutual respect and service to the People of God for Fathers Roger and Skip.
